When it comes to leading performance on the road, the Yamaha MT09 stands out with its impressive 117hp and over 60ft-lbs of torque as standard. But what if you could take that performance to the next level? This is where Yamaha remapping comes into play. The tuning process allows riders to make modifications to the ECU maps, ensuring a smoother ride and enhanced responsiveness. In our upcoming series, we’ll delve into the specifics of how to effectively remap your Yamaha MT09. So this is my own bike i am working on, I haven’t even looked at the ECU File for it as yet i merely downloaded one from our server to have an indepth look at the maps contained within the ECU to see what needs to be done, all the usual ignition timing needs smoothing out as does the fueling as well, i see around 12-18hp to be gained from the stock settings. Now my bike has what looks to be a full exhaust system fitted already, but no proof of the ECU being reflashed within the paperwork, so before running off to the Dyno and wasting hours and hours reflashing different maps i’m simply going to sort the most obvious ones, get rid of the restrictions imposed by emissions law, then maybe tweak a couple of maps from there, that’s then the time to Dyno my bike, a stock base run (standard) and then a couple of flashes just to see what gains we can have! Oh and the terrible snatchy throttle on the MT-09 needs sorting too.

2 – Obvious but make sure that company is into Motorbikes, Some are but a lot aren’t and it should be fairly obvious if they are doing it just for the money
3 – The Powergate works from an App on your phone! So you do ideally need a half decent modern phone, you will be doing all the leg work yourself, i.e you plug the Powergate into your bike, you download the stock ap to your phone, we do the mods to the file, but then you have to re-upload it to your bike (Hands on) a battery charger is handy here as well!
